Welcome! My name is Ben and I am a photographer based out of Coon Rapids, Minnesota. For those who don't know where that is. . .I am about 20 miles north of Minneapolis. I created this blog to give you an insight into what I have been up too. Make sure to check back often as I try to feature photos from recent weddings and other photo shoots that I do.
Autumn has been taking its time to get here this year. Two weekends back, the three of us went up to the north shore to shoot a friday wedding(more about this to come shortly) and we had a blast goofing off in the leaves up there. I was a bit suprised to see very little in the form of color on the actual shore, but we drove a good 15 minutes inland and found plenty. We were with my parents and so my mom gets credit for the photo of me and grace(great photo by the way). I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to be up there.
This week I plan on posting some photos of an awesome wedding I shot up on the shore on that friday and also some engagement photos on sunday in Nisswa.
Three Friday’s ago, Rachel and I had the pleasure of play paparazzi all day with Krista and Matt. The day was absolutely perfect and everything just flew by we were having so much fun. We spent a couple hours out at the state capital in Saint Paul for the more formal type of photos. I had been there before, but was never able to go into any of the offices, so it was really neat that everyone was able to get ready there too. Overall I couldn’t have asked for a more fun day and everyone looked like they were having a complete blast. I love slideshows (I think Krista shares that sentiment too), so I tonight I put one together that tells a little bit more of how the day went. It runs for around three and a half minutes.
I shot Becky and Pete’s wedding early this past August, but I had such a fun time with their wedding that I still wanted to get a slideshow up on here to show some of the adventures we had.
During Grace’s afternoon nap we discovered that she can climb out of her crib in its lowest setting. We knew the day was coming, but was hoping it wouldn’t be so soon. Her crib converts to a toddler bed, so we were for the most part set up for the transition. We thought of one problem with the new bed, Grace moves around a lot when she sleeps. So we bought another mattress for her to sleep on the floor with and it will double as a crash pad. Tonight she started out in the crib and then moved to the lower mattress and then thought it would be more comfortable to be half on and half off. She is growing up so fast.
I wanted to sample a few photos of their wedding three weekends ago. I’ll do a more comprehensive entry with a slideshow after this weekend. So for now, enjoy the sneak peak at these samples.
I shot Mark and Mary’s wedding a few weekends back and I have been meaning to get some photos up. I am going to have a few weeks off after this weekend, so I’ll use the break to get caught up on all the slideshows that need to be posted on here.
This has been by far the most incredible summer I have had in a long time. I have met so many great people and had a blast shooting photos at their weddings. I do have to admit that I have been slacking a little on keeping my blog up to date with all the happenings of this past month. I recently wrapped up the editing of Mary and Mark’s wedding photos from a couple weekends ago and I am planning on posting a new slideshow/sample photos on here soon. I also intend to post a few samples soon from Chad and Kelly’s wedding that I shot last Saturday. This Saturday I am going to be in Minneapolis/St. Paul for Becky and Pete’s Wedding. You can see their engagement photos a few posts below. ~Ben
I decided to put together a quick slideshow for Angie and Pete. You can see a handful of their photos below, but here is a larger sampling of the photo session.
I am going to be shooting their wedding up in Two Harbors, MN in a couple months and I am crazy excited about the locations. If you know me even slightly, you know that I love the north shore and I spend just about every free weekend I have up there. When they contacted me about shooting their wedding up there, I couldn’t have said yes quick enough. A little over a week ago, we hooked up for an hour to shoot some engagement photos down at Minnehaha Falls. I hadn’t ever been there and it proved to be a great location to hang out and enjoy a little photo session.
